The Toad a la Mode Weekly Guide to TV
Who says there's nothing on TV? Toad a la Mode has your guide
to the best that television has to offer. Check out this week's highlights:
Wednesday
West Wing
During a tense meeting in the Sit. Room, the President waxes nostalgic
about how 19th century Vermont farmers chose precisely the right spot to
tap on exactly the right maple tree. People walk down the hall very fast,
discussing both work and non-work issues simultaneously.
Thursday
Will & Grace
The weekly celebrity guest stars continue as Harvey Fierstein plays
the super-gay that Jack has to out-gay. Meanwhile, another B-list
celebrity -- unnamed at press time -- is brought in to play Grace's
love interest. The smart money's on Steve Guttenberg.
Sunday
60 Minutes
The "60 Minutes" gang mixes it up in the opening credits: Leslie Stahl
goes second, and Ed Bradley announces Andy Rooney.
The Practice
A moral dilemma over whether to represent a genuinely guilty
client threatens to tear the firm apart. Meanwhile, Lindsey is terrorized by a former client.
Monday
Everybody Loves Raymond
On a very special "Raymond," Ray's wife has a mammogram after finding a lump
in her breast during her routine monthly self-exam. Ray's mom brings food and interferes.
48
Capitalizing on the success of its critically acclaimed show "24,"
Fox launches "48," in which hour-long episodes of "24" are aired in half-hour segments.
Tuesday
Frasier
Having run out of gas, the Crane brothers spend the entire episode
in a McDonald's. The fish-out-of-water hilarity crescendos in a spirited
debate over whether to order two "Egg McMuffins" or "Eggs McMuffin."
There's always something good on at the Toad a la Mode menu.
