NOTICE
Some residents have been spotted feeding deer. Remember: The Homeowner's Deed Restrictions specifically prohibit feeding animals on your property or in the common areas. We all agreed to these restrictions when we purchased our homes in The Village at Deer Creek Crossing. A few deer are a nice feature, but we don't want them to overrun our community.

Community Question Box
Q: How do I keep deer from eating my Gerber daisies?
Keeping deer out of our gardens and planted areas is important, espcially since Section 4, Item 3 of the Homeowner's Deed Restrictions state that "all gardens and adjacent areas will be kept free of animal-induced damages, droppings, and foot- or hoofprints." Our landscaping company, Green Valley Lawn and Chemical, can install electric shock fencing around your daisies for a reasonable fee (this service is not covered by your homeowner's association dues). Alternatively, you can have your wife stay home all day and shoo the deer out of your garden. Remember, the Homeowner's Deed Restrictions state that "wives may only work outside the home if doing so will not cause damage or neglect to the house or property."

Civilized Living in the Village
From time to time, our professional management company, Happy Neighbors Enforcement, sends teams of observers through the community to check for compliance with the Homeowner's Deed Restrictions. Any homes found to be in violation receive a warning letter, usually left tied around a dead animal on the front porch. If you receive such a letter, you should take action to correct the violation immediately. As stipulated in the Homeowner's Deed Restrictions, the Happy Neighbors Enforcement team has been deputized with legal permission to take any and all action to assure compliance, up to and including shooting violators dead. Remember, we live in a managed community because we want to keep our neighborhood looking good and preserve our property values. And if you get in our way, we will take you out.

Hot Tip: Barking Dogs
Be sure to report any complaints about barking dogs to our management company, Happy Neighbors Enforcement. Section 23D of the Homeowners' Deed Restrictions authorizes the HNE team to collect these nuisance pets. But don't worry -- they'll be returned to their owners after their vocal cords have been severed.

Editorial: There Are Too Many Unkempt Shrubs In the Yard at 5300 Deer Creek Meadows Drive!
Far be it from me to criticize, but the owners of this property need to realize that their scraggly Boxwood and Nandina plantings are driving down property values on the street. My wife and I work very hard to maintain our property in good shape, and we think it is unfair that someone else's careless laziness can impact our investment. The owner of the house died nearly two weeks ago, and his widow has not even touched the shrubbery in all that time. Sounds like someone needs a good stern letter from the HNE team!
